Selling Business Outcomes (OUTCOMES) v1.0 builds core skills to meet customer needs through an outcome-focused sales approach. The course enables more effective results in providing and positioning Cisco’s portfolio of products, services and solutions. It is the foundation course on outcome selling, intended for sales professionals in Cisco and the Channel Partner companies.

This one-day course enables sales professionals to understand a customer’s business context and offer technology solutions that satisfy defined needs or outcomes. Skills gained enable selling that matches buying preferences in today’s dynamic environment. This can raise customer trust, shorten sales cycles and yield higher revenue than other sales methods.

Throughout this course learners have the opportunity to apply what they learn to real-life business scenarios through guided exercises and challenge questions at the end of each lesson. Where applicable, course content is presented in the context of actual business outcomes sales scenarios. Ancillary materials are provided to enable learners to successfully define technology solutions that drive business outcomes in their everyday job role.

The course is designed to prepare candidates to pass the Cisco Selling Business Outcomes (810-401) exam. In mid-April 2015, the Selling Business Outcomes course and Cisco Selling Business Outcomes (810-401) exam will replace the recommended training course Cisco Sales Essentials and the Cisco Sales Expert (646-206) exam as a required exam by the Cisco Channel Partner Program. The Cisco Sales Essentials and the Cisco Sales Expert (646-206) exam will continue to be available but as a standalone course and exam. It will no longer be a requirement for the Cisco Channel Partner Program.
