Bio
Gregor Šemrl is an IT veteran with over 20 years of experience, including 6 years as an instructor.
Gregor likes the Cisco NSO technology, which provides a bridge between automation and orchestration frameworks and the underlying physical and virtual infrastructure from any vendor. A rich set of northbound software interfaces allows NSO to easily integrate with many tools and systems. That is why he recommends the NSO201 course to all Network Engineers and NetDevOps Engineers.
His expertise earned him the esteemed Cisco Excellence Award in the Service Provider category in 2021 and 2022.

My Knowledge
My knowledge primarily stems from a software development background: from programming languages, including Python, C#, C++, and Java, data science and business intelligence, database design, and business intelligence to software architecture. In the past years, I have extensively participated in software implementation projects where multiple technologies, such as Microsoft, Linux, and Cisco, were connected. I believe having a lot of field experience from actual projects greatly enhances the instructor’s knowledge and helps to deliver knowledge to students with real-world examples.
Life Outside of Work
Fun fact about me:
As an instructor, I want to connect with the audience, and sometimes, there is enough time to do things outside the box. One time, I enhanced the training by configuring a customer device on the spot so the customer saw the benefit of the training. Of course, work is not the only important thing. In my free time, I am a founding member of the Big Band Bled, a jazz orchestra where I also play an instrument. In the past few years, I fell in love with golf and try to perfect my expertise whenever time permits. Simply put, golf is a compromise between what your ego wants you to do, what experience tells you to do, and what your nerves let you do. And this can easily be replicated in IT.
