CCNP Security changes – updated SITCS exam and training
The updated curriculum covers the latest Cisco FirePOWER NGIPS and Cisco AMP solutions.
The Implementing Cisco Threat Control Solutions (SITCS) curriculum, which is part of the Cisco CCNP Security certification track, validates knowledge on advanced firewall architecture and configuration with the Cisco next-generation firewall, utilizing access and identity policies. The current version 1.0 of the SITCS exam and training have been updated to version 1.5 and reflect the latest technological advancements and job requirements of a network security engineer.
The new SITCS v1.5 curriculum now includes topics on the Cisco FirePOWER Next-Generation Intrusion Prevention (NGIPS) and Cisco Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) solutions. Topics on the retired Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) CX Firewall and on the legacy Cisco Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) have been removed. Check out the detailed SITCS v1.5 description for more information about the course content.
The last day to take the 300-207 SITCS v1.0 exam is December 31, 2016. Prior to that date, candidates can choose to take either the 300-207 SITCS v1.0 exam or the new 300-210 SITCS v1.5 exam; after December 31, the only valid SITCS exam will be 300-210.
Updated CCNP Security program
The update affected only the SITCS exam. The other three CCNP Security exams remain unchanged, i.e. at version one. Check out the following table for the list of required exams and recommended training for achieving the CCNP Security certification.
