Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites. However, it is important to have a solid understanding of the exam topics before taking the test. CCNA candidates often possess one or more years of experience implementing and managing Cisco solutions, knowledge of basic IP addressing, and a strong grasp of network fundamentals.

Required Exam

200-301 CCNA

Recertification

Your certification is valid for three years. You can renew with Continuing Education credits or retake exams before they expire.

Exam only (Choose one option):

  • Pass any one associate-level exam
  • Pass any one professional-level concentration exam
  • Pass one technology core exam
  • Pass any one expert-level written exam
  • Pass any one expert-level lab or practical exam

Combining exams with Continuing Education (CE) credits:

  • Earn 30 CE credits
