CCNP Security Certification: Master Network, Cloud, and Endpoint Security with Advanced Skills

Prove your skills in all things security infrastructure, including network, cloud, and content security, endpoint protection and detection, secure network access, visibility, and enforcement.

Identify common threats and vulnerabilities. Understand key concepts, such as encryption, virtual private networks (VPNs), and techniques used to prevent attacks.

Compare security solutions, be able to set up and manage firewalls, implement preventative security measures, and configure secure remote access solutions.

Describe different clouds and services and understand how to securely manage cloud applications.

Understand how to redirect and capture web traffic, verify user identities, compare security solutions, and set up email security features, such as spam filtering and encryption.

Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites for CCNP Security, but you should have a good understanding of the exam topics before taking the exam.

Learners often also have three to five years of experience implementing security solutions.

 

Required Exams

Core Exam (required):
350-701 SCOR

Concentration Exams (choose one):
300-710 SNCF
300-715 SISE
300-720 SESA
300-725 SWSA
300-730 SVPN
300-740 SCAZT
300-745 SDSI

Recertification

Your certification is valid for three years.  A CCNP level certification requires 80 CE Credits and you earn CE Credits from the following options:

Exam path:

  • Pass one of any Associate level exams (200-xxx) – Earn 30 CE Credits
  • Pass one of any Concentration level exams  (300-xxx) – Earn 40 CE Credits
  • Pass one of any Core level exams (350-xxx) – Earn 80 CE Credits
  • Pass the CCDE Written exam  (400-007) – Earn 120 CE Credits

Note: Candidates who have previously passed a Core exam (350-xxx) and still active can also take the CCIE Lab exam to recertify existing certifications.
