What information is collected about me?
NIL collects your first name, last name, job title/role, company name, email address, country, and areas of interest. We also register your IP address and the exact time you subscribed; if you unsubscribe, we will also register the exact time for this.
We also collect information about your use of our newsletter. Including if and when you open the newsletter, which links you click, and thus which of the material you find interesting.
What is your information used for?
We use your email address, name, company name, job title, and areas of interest to send you information about IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, whitepapers, invitations to events & webinars, and other news about NIL and Conscia.
The information we collect about your use of our newsletter are used to improve our service, so we can target and adapt the content to fit your interests, just as we use the information for statistical purposes.
We use your time for registration and unsubscription as well as your email and IP address to be able to document your subscription status.
Your information will be included in our user-profile database we keep in Adobe Marketo for the general purpose of marketing. If you visit the nil.com website and consent to the use of functional or marketing cookies, or if you have previously done so, your information will also be used in connection with information collected through such cookies about your activity on the website for the general purpose of marketing and for statistical purposes. If you agree to the terms and engage in other activities on our website (for instance register for a webinar or for newsletters), information about such activities will also become part of your user profile and will be used in connection with your information for the general purpose of marketing and for statistical purposes.
Our basis for processing information about you
The basis for our processing of your information to send you our newsletter/e-marketing is the General Data Protection Regulation art. 6 (1) (f) (legitimate interests). The legitimate interest we pursue is to be able to send you newsletters and email marketing as per your request and to be able to process the information together with other information about you for the general purpose of marketing.
The basis for our processing of your information for the purpose of documentation is the General Data Protection Regulation art. 6 (1) (c) (legal obligation).
How often are newsletters sent out?
We send out newsletters, invitations, etc. when we have something important or relevant to tell you or have arranged an event we think you may be interested in attending. We do not necessarily broadcast our newsletter at regular intervals, and you can expect to receive a couple of emails from us per month.
You can always correct or change your information
You can change or correct your contact information (your email address, name, etc.) at any time by unsubscribing from our newsletter and then signing up again.

You can always revoke your consent
You can unsubscribe from our newsletter and electronic marketing at any time. Once you have unsubscribed, you will not receive any additional marketing materials from us by email unless you have provided us with any other consent for us to contact you.
After you have unsubscribed, we will send you a confirmation that we will delete you from our list of recipients.
You can unsubscribe by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link, which is included in the bottom of every email you receive from us.
Transfers of data to third countries
To ensure data protection in case of transfers described below, we have established the necessary means to ensure an adequate level of data protection. This may be an adequacy decision of the European Commission confirming an adequate level of data protection in the respective non-EEA country or an agreement on the basis of the EU Model Clauses (issued by the European Commission). We will provide further information on the means to ensure an adequate level of data protection, such as a copy of the EU Model Clauses, on request.
Marketo
We use Adobe Marketo for online forms, registrations, sending out emails, and collecting information about user activity. For this we use cookies, but only if a user has consented to the use of marketing cookies. We have entered into a written data processor agreement with Adobe regarding their processing of personal data for us as a data processor to ensure that your personal data is processed according to our instructions, confidentially, and that the necessary security measures have been taken against your information being compromised or misused.
Adobe Marketo uses sub-processors in countries outside the EU, and therefore your personal data may be transferred to third countries. The countries where transfers can take place can be found on Marketo’s website: https://documents.marketo.com/legal/sub-processor-list.

Wistia
We use Wistia, a service of Wistia Inc., to show you video content. On behalf of NIL, Wistia provides a solution where you can register to our newsletter via a form embedded in the video. If you fill out a form in Wistia the data you enter is saved in their data center outside the EU.
By submitting the form in the video, you consent to the transmission of the data to Wistia.

We do not sell your information
We do not sell on your information to others. Except as described in this policy, we will only disclose information about you if we are required to do so by law or if we are required to do so by a court order.
Retention period
We only store your information for as long as it is relevant but no longer than 12 months after the last registered activity (interaction with the web page, filling out a web form, taking part in a web seminar, etc.), unless there are specific legal reasons, and/or a legal requirement that stipulates a longer storage period. The criteria used to determine our retention periods include
- Whether here are statutory retention requirements (e.g. accounting or financial requirements).
- The length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you and provide services to you (for example, for as long as you keep using our services) and the length of time thereafter during which we may have a legitimate need to reference your personal information to address issues that may arise.
- The data are still required to assert and exercise legal claims or to defend against legal claims.
