Business continuity is interpreted in numerous ways by company policy makers on all levels.  While Chief Financial Officers place this expense under the IT department, and Chief Information Officers set this as their ultimate target, the management perceives it as something abstract, but important nonetheless. It is the management’s task to calculate the damages—both financial and reputation-wise—of business downtime during operational disruptions lasting a day or several days.
