The BGP and MPLS in SP Networks (BGP-MPLS) is a four-day instructor-led lab-intensive course that prepares service providers for implementing BGP and MPLS in their network. The training provides insight into basic and advanced features of BGP protocol as well as MPLS operation and applications in service provider networks. Special emphasis is placed on the MPLS Layer 3 VPN application.


After finishing this course, you will be able to:
  • Describe the steps that are needed to implement BGP in a service provider network, including detailed route reflector deployments
  • Describe the importance of BGP routing protocol for inter-domain routing, and list the steps to follow when you are implementing BGP in a service provider network
  • Identify the typical MPLS requirements, and list the MPLS applications that are used in service provider networks
  • Describe the features of MPLS, and how MPLS labels are assigned and distributed
  • Introduce the VPN technologies that are used in the service provider environment and the MPLS VPN peer-to-peer architecture
  • Describe the implementation steps that are needed to provide MPLS Layer 3 VPN service in the service provider network
  • Describe how the MPLS Layer 3 VPN model can be used to implement managed services and Internet access
