The Deploying Basic Cisco Wireless LANs (WDBWL), Deploying Advanced Cisco Wireless LANs (WDAWL), and Deploying Cisco Connected Mobile Experiences (WCMX) instructor-led courses have been refreshed to keep up with new products and feature releases.

Cisco wireless LAN product training prepare wireless engineers to perform their Wi-Fi network responsibilities, particularly those who implement and regularly work with Cisco wireless LAN equipment, features, and solutions. The product courses are reviewed constantly to keep up with new products and features, supplementing the Cisco Wireless Certification courses. There are no exams associated with the product training curriculum.

Cisco has recently announced updates to 3 instructor-led wireless product courses:

The refreshed courses are available through NIL Learning, authorized Cisco Learning Partner with Cisco Learning Partner Specialized and Cisco Business Partner designations. Check out the training schedule for available dates.

Courses Overview

The descriptions below provide a high-level overview of the goals and content of the updated courses:

  • Deploying Basic Cisco Wireless LANs (WDBWL) v1.2: This three-day instructor-led classroom/virtual classroom course gives students a firm understanding of Cisco Unified Wireless Networking for enterprise deployment scenarios. In this course, students will learn the basics of how to install, configure, operate, and maintain a wireless network, both as an add-on to an existing wireless LAN (WLAN) and as a new Cisco Unified Wireless Networking solution. The WDBWL course focuses on the essential network elements of a WLAN: access points (APs) and wireless LAN controllers (WLCs). It provides high-level information about the optional but recommended network management and services appliance components of a Cisco Unified Wireless Network – the Cisco Prime Infrastructure (PI), and Mobility Services Engine (MSE) but does not provide hands-on labs and in-depth coverage of these components. The course also covers differences when deploying a Cisco wireless LAN FlexConnect architecture. Upon completion of the course, attendees will have the skills and knowledge required to successfully plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain basic Cisco Wireless LAN solutions in a customer enterprise environment.
  • Deploying Advanced Cisco Wireless LANs (WDAWL) v1.2: This two-day instructor-led classroom/virtual classroom course builds on the foundational learning from the recommended prerequisite course, Deploying Basic Cisco Wireless LANs (WDBWL). The WDAWL advanced course provides learners with the knowledge and skills to successfully plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain advanced Cisco wireless LAN solutions such as QoS, mobility, high‑density deployments, and outdoor mesh deployments in an enterprise customer environment.

  • Deploying Cisco Connected Mobile Experiences (WCMX) v2.0: The Cisco Connected Mobile Experiences (CMX) solution provides the ability to leverage client positioning information within a venue and turn it into actionable business intelligence. The Deploying Cisco Connected Mobile Experiences (WCMX) v2.0 course is a two-day instructor-led classroom/virtual classroom course. WCMX will prepare students to use the Cisco Unified Wireless Network to configure, administer, manage, troubleshoot, and optimize utilization of mobile content while gaining meaningful client analytics.
