Very useful SDN workshop!

Our team attended the workshop to gain detailed insight into SDN technologies and to help us separate the wheat from the chaff.

I must say we were very satisfied with the workshop content and the delivery by the instructor Boštjan Šuštar. He covered all the topics well and showed that he has deep understanding of the technologies. The SDN architecture and the use cases were especially beneficial for us.

Overall, the workshop provided what we were looking for, and for everyone who wants to get familiar with real-life SDN examples and design scenarios, I highly recommend this training.

Great instructor and content equals good training

Great instructor and content equals good training

"I joined the training to gain an overview of how networks work and function, so I could better understand the issues that my team of network administrators have to deal with on a daily basis and therefore to even further improve the level of cooperation within our team.

The course completely satisfied my expectations and I am very glad with the actual outcome. The content was well structured and I would also emphasize the positive attitude and general appearance of the instructor Lantzy. Through the whole week of the course he was always helpful and he did a great job in helping us in the classroom understand the topics by providing explanations or examples when this was needed. Additionally, his teaching style is not monotonic, which contributed to the high engagement of students."

TLT provides fully interactive learning experience

"My colleague and I took Cisco’s ASR9KE course in order to gain skills that would enable us to successfully deploy and operate the Cisco ASR 9000 routers in our network. I am glad to say this goal was completely achieved by taking the training with NIL Learning.

I would especially like to stress out the professionalism of David Eror, the instructor. He is de-facto an ASR 9000 expert with a lot of practical experience on a real gear. This made a tremendous difference in his way of teaching. I really appreciate his willingness and ability to convey all that knowledge to us. The details and small tricks from the field he shared with us will for sure come in very handy while operating with ASR 9000.

Although the training was delivered via Cisco TelePresence-based TLT, with David being stationed in Johannesburg, there was no compromise in skills transfer and we also did not experience any technical issues. I must admit, I was a bit skeptical at the beginning, but since the training finished, my colleague and I have not a single word of complaint about the solution. TLT is a great training environment - the video is clear and smooth, sound quality is sufficient, and doing lab exercises is basically the same as with the instructor being present in the actual classroom."
Marko Zver, IP Networks Group Leader, Si.mobil

Client: Si.mobil
Course: Instructor-Led Training - Cisco Aggregation Services Router 9000 Series Essential (ASR9KE)
Period: October 27–31, 2014

NIL Learning held Cisco ASR9KE training for engineers from 3 African telecom operators and for two engineers from leading Slovenian mobile operator Si.mobil. The course was delivered via our Technology-Led Training (TLT) solution, linking classrooms in Ljubljana, Slovenia and Johannesburg, South Africa, where the instructor was also located.

About the client:

Si.mobil, 100 % owned by the Telekom Austria Group, began offering its services in March 1999 as the first privately owned mobile operator in Slovenia and is today the second largest mobile operator in the country.  At the end of 2013, Si.mobil employed 418 people, who provided services to 679,200 customers.

Si.mobil was the first operator in Slovenia to introduce and offer GPRS and WAP services and multimedia messaging. It was the first Slovenian operator and one of the first operators worldwide to provide fast data rates over EDGE technology, and later it also provided mobile broadband internet over its own UMTS/HSDPA network. In 2012, Si.mobil became the first in Slovenia to commercially offer services over an LTE network

Best remote training solution ever!

Best remote training solution ever!

I was really happy to take this course with NIL. The intensive five-day SPNGN bootcamp promised crucial skills to operate and support a Service Provider network, and this was exactly what we got.

The instructor has a deep understanding of the topic, and he talks in a very clear and interesting way. I was attending the course via Technology-Led Training (TLT) directly from my office, and I could easily follow the instructor and participate in lab [exercises], while saving a lot on travel costs and accommodations.

Especially I would stress the access to the remote labs environment—that is the best [remote training solution] I have ever experienced. Thanks!

Dmitry Kozorez, NOC engineer, Eureca

TLT is a great learning experience!

Thanks for a good course [SPCORE]. I think Technology-Led Training, NIL’s virtual classroom, is a good opportunity to have [a great] learning experience. There were no problems with the TelePresence system, WebEx or anything else related to seeing or hearing the class! Also labs were working technically okay, no problems.

Of course, a virtual classroom takes more effort from the instructor and students, because you cannot just draw everything on the whiteboard. Therefore students are just sitting and waiting to see the presentation and solutions. Students must be more willing to ask [questions] and be able to present their opinions. In our course we had some really good chats, which resolved most of the issues. [The] only thing I missed a little was the whiteboard over at this end of the line.

Overall this was a hard and long course, but I felt good after class. Thanks to instructor Tilen Mlakar!
